Citrus County's historical courthouse is located on the round-about a
block from the newer courthouse. Historical features include the
clock tower and the brick construction. It has a unique
symmetrical design that corresponds to its location on the round-about.
Located in Inverness, this courthouse is open to the public and has
quaint small eating establishments nearby to feed the people working and
utilizing the court and clerks office during the week.
Osceola
County's historic courthouse is the oldest continuous use courthouse in
the state. It is also one of the most unique. Construction
is brick with a cross architectural design. It features a bell
tower and is surrounded by oaks as old as the courthouse itself.
Located across the street from the new courthouse, it is a beautiful
sight to see as you enter or exit court. Like most things, Osceola
County really got this right. Easily one of the best preserved and
most beautiful buildings in the state.

Desoto County is located in the southwestern peninsula of Florida.
Land-locked, it was created out of Manatee County in the 1880's.
The Courthouse is located in Arcadia along State Road 17. The
design follows the traditional Florida courthouses of the era with brick
being the main building component. Currently under restoration,
the courthouse is surrounded by a grass plaza sprinkled with oak trees
and colorful flowers.

Nassau County is located in the furthest north-eastern part of the
state. Is is northeast of Jacksonville and the county borders
Georgia. The historic courthouse is located in Fernandina Beach,
an artistic eclectic small town that is a magnet for weekend
vacationers. The uniquely designed courthouse is of brick
construction with a white painted wooden clock tower common in seaside
communities along the east coast. The old courthouse matches the
old community's mood. The County designed the new courthouse
several miles inland with the same architectural designs of the
historical clock tower connecting the present with the past. This
courthouse is also still in use.

The Highlands County Historic Courthouse is located in Sebring. It
is made in the traditional style courthouse architecture, long
rectangular base with centered entrance framed by columns. The
courthouse is still in use and is located on the edge of the quiet
neighborhoods and lakes that make up the hills and valleys of the
eastern side of the town. |
